Richard was born and raised in Enid graduating from Enid High School in 1963.  After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force serving from August 1965 until January 1969.  He was stationed with the 775th Radar Squadron at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.  He also served in the U.S. Air Force reserves from 1969 until August 1971.  He returned to Oklahoma with his wife in 2002 and resided in Owasso since that time.

Richard was kind, gentle, and patient and he valued the time he spent with his family. He was a very loving husband and a proud Dad, stepdad, father-in-law and Grandpa.
